‘11’SMT. SWARAJ CONDOLES THE DEATH OF KARUNA BANDYOPADHYA
The Minister of Information and Broadcasting Smt. Sushma Swaraj has condoled the death of noted Bengali film actress Karuna Bandyopadhyay who passed away in Kolkata this morning. In her message Smt. Swaraj said that Karuna Bandyopadhyay’s portrayal as Apu’s mother, Sarbajaya in the Satyajit Ray’s classic ‘Pather Panchali’ and ‘Aparajito’ will be remembered long by the Indian spectators and film industry as a whole.. She successfully fulfilled Ray’s imagination of characters by her immense capacity of acting the minister added.
