'10’ MAULANA AZAD CHAIR WOULD BE SET UP IN VARIOUS UNIVERSITIESThe Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya has said that Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was a great freedom fighter and nationalist who opposed the division of the country on religious basis. He said that Maulana Azad worked tirelessly for national integration. Dr. Jatiya was speaking at a function to celebrate the 113th birthday of Maulana Azad here yesterday. He announced on this occasion that Maulana Azad Chair would be set up in various universities. Dr. Jatiya said that new schemes are being envisaged by the Maulana Azad Education Foundation to promote education among minorities.
The function was also addressed by Civil Aviation Minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, former Union Minister Shri Mukhtar Abas Naqvi, Vice Chancellors of Jamia Milia Islamia and Jamia Hamdard Syed Shahid Mehndi and Shri Siraj Hussain and the national chief of the BJP Minorities Front Shri M.S.Usmani. The function was organised by the Maulana Azad Education Foundation.
