CONSTITUTION REVIEW COMMISSION DELIBERATES FURTHER PROGRESS OF ITS WORKING
The third full meeting of the National Commission to Review the Working of the Constitution of India, which continued for the second consecutive day here today, decided a definite time-frame for progress of its works. The meeting, held under the Chairmanship of Shri Justice M.N. Venkatachalaiah, identified resource institutions and persons for preparation of consultation papers, convening expert panels and obtaining responses. The Commission expects to complete its work within the period stipulated in the Notification.
It was noted with satisfaction that in reply to the public notice, till date over 1100 responses have been received, also in several Indian languages.
It was decided that at an appropriate stage in the working of the Commission, when consultation papers and questionnaires have been prepared, and responses of the public obtained, a series of four to five regional seminars throughout the country and thereafter a national seminar would be held to involve as many interested persons in the work of the Commission as possible
