PROGRAMME FOR DEVELOPMENT OF TRIBAL AREAS IN A.P.

    Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Hon’ble Shri Jual Oram has informed the Rajya Sabha that the details of on-going programmes regarding Central and Centrally-Sponsored Schemes of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs aimed at development of tribal areas in Andhra Pradesh and funds released during Ninth Five Year Plan are as follows:

    The Minister further added that no report about non-satisfactory implementation of schemes has come to the notice of the Government.

    This was informed by the Hon’ble Union Minister for Tribal Affairs in reply to a question from the Hon’ble Member Dr. Mohan Babu in the Rajya Sabha here today.

BETTER HOUSING FOR TRIBALS IN ANDHRA PRADESH

    Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Hon’ble Shri Jual Oram has informed Rajya Sabha that the Government received a representation in 1998-99 from Andhra Pradesh to assist tribals for better housing. An officer from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment also visited Andhra Pradesh during November, 1998 for this purpose. Action in this regard is being taken by the State Government, being the implementing authority. During 1998-99, the State Government sanctioned 23670 houses to the tribals under Chaitanyam Scheme. For the current year, there is a provision of 50,000 houses.

    This was stated by the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram in reply to a question from the Hon’ble Member, Shri C. Ramachandraiah in the Rajya Sabha here today.

SPECIAL LIMITED COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR SC/ST AS SCHEDULED

    The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Special Limited Competitive Examination for SC/ST candidates for induction into Indian Audit and Accounts Service-2000 from 06th March 2000 to 7th March 2000. There is no change in the schedule of this examination.
